SOAP is a Bible Reading plan for you to spend time with the Lord daily and hear his word and pray to him. The word SOAP reminds us not only of the need for good, regular time with God, but also for a helpful way to spend time with him. Here is how it works:
S – SCRIPTURE. The passages for reading that day will be included in the bulletin, and eventually on the toms website. This is the passage to read for the day.
O – OBSERVATION. What observations can you make from the passage? What stands out? What do you notice? What can we learn about the Lord from this passage? What can we learn about ourselves and our world from this passage?
A – APPLICATION. How can you apply what you have learned from the passage? What does it mean to put this into practice? What does the Lord ask of me in response to this passage?
P – PRAYER. Putting things into practice is something granted to us by the Lord. Pray that he would help you to understand and apply this passage throughout the day. In this section you can also add other prayer requests. Write them down so you can reflect on the Lord’s work in later times.
